The premise sounds like fiction. The book begins by reconstructing the documented sequence as closely as the surviving record allows.

Built from the record, not from certainty

The book is documentary nonfiction based on court decisions, Austrian parliamentary material, government records, declassified intelligence material, contemporary reporting, interviews reproduced in published sources, and later historical research. Where sources disagree, the narrative distinguishes documented facts from allegations, recollections and later interpretation.
